What is Autism?

Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of life, and affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills.

 

The leading factor for the cause of autism has not yet been discovered.

 

People with autism may be real sensitive to the 5 senses. (sight, hearing, touching, smell or taste. They also do not adapt well to change. Autistic people are strictly stuck to one routine. They develop unusual connections to objects.

 

Autistic kids find it hard to start and maintain conversations. Have speech issues and communicates with gestures more than words.

What is an Epidemic?

 

 

a widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time.

 

Autism is not a "disease" nor is it "infectious" It is brain development disorder. It's not contaigous. You can not touch someone with autism and then all of a sudden you have autism too. Autism is not an epidemic.
